Florida Citizen Scientists Are Running Oyster Nurseries To Restore Endangered Habitat


Oysters can filter 50 gallons of water daily and help keep oceans cleaner, but nearly 85% of oyster beds have been lost in the last 100 years to overdevelopment and overharvesting. NBC News’ Joe Fryer reports on how one group of volunteer scientists in Florida are using their own oyster bed starter kits to restore the endangered marine habitat.
